Where is Free Speech Radio News on Ralph Nader/Gonzalez presidential campaign? by Maureen Primerano We are writing in
response to the July 4 commentary on Mr. Ralph Nader by Mumia Abu Jamal.
Isn't it ironic that it takes someone on death row to have the courage
to speak the truth, because FSRN certainly has NOT been doing it. Since
Ralph Nader announced his Presidential campaign FSRN has not once provided
in-depth coverage or air time about his Presidential platform, and how
it differs from the mainstream candidates. And, what he would do if he
were elected President? Instead, FSRN and other so-called "alternative"
media have ignored the Nader/Gonzalez Presidential campaign; and have
essentially become cheerleaders for the Obama camp. One would think that
FSRN in claiming to be a bastion of free speech; radio programmers would
jump at the opportunity to interview Ralph Nader and Matt Gonzalez, who
are true progressive candidates, and if supported could play an effective
role in reversing the downward spiral of the nation and the world. Considering
all the accomplishments of Matt Gonzalez, particularly in San Francisco
as a genuine progressive Latino activist, FSRN would champion his Vice
Presidential candidacy. For example, why aren't you exposing the "spoiler"
fallacy which is primarily responsible for why so many people on the left
won't support Ralph Nader. The documented facts reveal overwhelmingly
that Nader was not responsible for Gore's loss. Therefore, FSRN has the
responsibility to finally expose this myth. Since Amy Goodman and Dennis
Bernstein have yet to do it, FSRN must step up to the plate. There is
too much at stake not to. |
